The rooms exposed repeatedly to short-time moisture, splashing water, shall be water-proofed thoroughly to prevent water from penetrating the ground (concrete, masonry, gypsum plasterboard) and thus damaging the joints between an adhesive and the ground or in the ground. For these areas it is necessary to observe the recommended procedures and composition of materials.
Tile laying on balconies and terraces belong to the most problematic issues of gluing. These areas are exposed to climatic conditions and thus also to big mechanical forces. Cold and frost can heavily damage the laid tiles. Therefore it is necessary to observe appropriate precautions.
Swimming pools belong to the most problematic issues of gluing of wall and floor tiles, because of continuous exposure to moisture, and thus their design should always be discussed with an expert. In this case the ideal ground is a very watertight concrete.
